Assoc., Ltd. provides personal service to a wide range of
clients. Typical projects might involve concept, schematic and
detailed site planning and landscape design; from quick sketches to
presentation and fund-raising quality graphics; construction
detailing and specifications; cost estimates and bidding; "value
engineering", project observation and project management; general
consulting; expert witness testimony, and much more. The goal
is always an uncommonly good result.

ABOUT OUR LOGO, THE BLUE TREE:
SELECTIONS CULLED FROM OUR
LIBRARY:
English Yew from
"A
Treatise on the Theory and Practice of Landscape
Gardening" A.J.Downing, 1865
We feature a revolving selection of
images from our extensive landscape architectural and horticultural
library. A.J. Downing was an influential writer in late 1800's
advocating a naturalistic, picturesque style. Our logo, an
image of an English Yew, was of course originally published as a
black and white etching. We have slightly modified it for our
own use! You will find it and occasionally other historic
images appearing on our stationary and in our other marketing
material.

Historic Garden
Renovation
Durham & Assoc.
has designed the full and partial restoration of historic
gardens dating to the early 19th century and before. The
firm's work at the Rehoboth Art League's Homestead House gardens
(circa 1932) has won three professional design awards.
Other recent historic projects include Andalusia - an
early 1800's estate on the Delaware River north of Philadelphia,
Goodstay Gardens - an 18th century garden now owned by the
University of Delaware, a 1932 public rose garden in
Wilmington's Brandywine Park and a private 1910
garden near Wilmington - possibly designed by Marion
Coffin.
Fine-quality residential
landscapes and gardens.
The firm's principal,
Andrew Durham, began his career with early training in
residential horticulture and garden design. Today, attention
to detail with plantings, masonry, lighting, fencing and the many other facets of
putting together a home's landscape are carefully designed and
crafted.
Institutional and
Educational courtyards, stormwater basins and other
projects.
Completed and in-progress
courtyards include corporate headquarters, retirement communities
and ecclesiastical/educational facilities. Our award-winning work in
this field
also includes horticultural rejuvenation and landscape masterplans,
storm water basin improvements, signage and lighting
design, and regulatory
filings.
Presentation Graphics,
Signage and Brochures
From garden guide
maps, fund-raising or promotional landscape presentations,
botanical labeling and garden & site landscape signage, Durham
& Assoc. can share with you numerous outstanding
examples of drawings, illustrations, sketches, published
brochures, and more.
Corporate and Commercial
Projects
Landscapes as a corporate
image; landscapes as a quality setting for employees or tenants;
creative parking lots, unique signage...this can be beautifully
designed fun stuff! Why are storm water retention
basins so ugly --
